the mission shipped from @NASAGoddard to @NorthropGrumman for integration into the @USAirforce Space Test Program Satellite 6.⁣

#LCRD is our first optical relay and will demonstrate the extraordinary capabilities of optical,
or laser,
communications!
For #Artemis missions to the Moon,
missions to Mars and beyond,
optical communications will play a key role in bringing more science and data back to Earth –
as well as enable astronauts to phone home!
